Dive into Durham is five days of immersive, direct service during Spring Break to learn about issues of hunger and homelessness in Durham.
What will I do?
• Get an overview of this important issues facing Durham
• Volunteer 12-16 hours at sites such as Urban Ministries of Durham, Lakewood Elementary School Community Garden, North Carolina Food Bank, etc.
• Participate in reflective dialogues about how hunger and homelessness affects our community
• See more of Durham and learn about the city’s culture and history
What more do I need to know?
• If you currently live on campus, the Duke residence halls are open during Spring Break.
• Undergraduate and graduate students welcome!
How do I sign up?
• Submit your application no later than 4:30 pm, February 15, 2012 and sign up for an interview. Applications should be submitted to Neil Hoefs by email at neil.hoefs@duke.edu or fax with cover sheet to 919-660-3230. If you'd like to drop off your application in person, please go to Smith Warehouse, 2nd floor, Bay 8, Office B219C, Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
